Memory Loss among aging adults can take many forms, and effects a large segment of the senior population. Nearly everyone knows of someone who suffers from too many "senior moments". There is little effective help offered by the health care system.
But there is good news for seniors with mild memory impairment in Washington Heights. The Jewish Community Council runs a weekly group, free of charge, which has proven success in reducing cognitive decline. The group is filled with activities that are designed to maintain and enhance memory and brain function. Included in the schedule is an age-appropriate exercise program. A hot lunch is also provided.
